How to Spot a Sanral Scam
SANRAL has been informed of recent attempts of fraud by persons, claiming to be SANRAL Procurement Department employees. These are criminals. If you keep the following in mind, you’ll be safe from being scammed.
1. SANRAL will NEVER ask contractors or service providers to pay for any tender document. These can be downloaded for free on our website, www.sanral.co.za.
2. We will NEVER call contractors or service providers regarding incorrect payments, change of accounts or request refunds.
3. Contracts are awarded fairly, in accordance with the applicable procurement policies and legislation. There are no tit-for-tat deals here.
4. We do not deal with payment certificates or account numbers verbally. We do not use cellphone numbers for official business. All authorisations are done by our staff, in writing.
5. All account numbers are confirmed by the banks and by SANRAL.
