Temporary closure of N2 into Gqeberha due to high waves and debris
Gqeberha, 22 August 2024 – The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) advises all road users to exercise caution and reduce speed when approaching Gqeberha from Bluewater Bay on the N2 highway. The road has been temporarily closed and traffic is being redirected via John Tallant Bridge through Deal Party.
This temporary closure is due to rising tides, which have caused rock debris to be deposited onto the N2 highway. SANRAL’s maintenance teams are on standby and will begin clearing the debris once the rough water conditions subside.
“We urge motorists to remain cautious and reduce their speed while using the alternative route,” said Mr. Mbulelo Peterson, Regional Manager for SANRAL’s Southern Region.
