Gqeberha, 15th September 2025 – The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) advises motorists of temporary intermittent / partial road closures scheduled to take place along the N2, Section 15, near Fort Jackson in the Eastern Cape. This partial road closure will take place to allow Eskom to install new OPGW fibre optic cable which will supply electricity to the area.
Closure dates and times:
- Tuesday 16th September from 8h00 until 16h00
- Wednesday 17th September from 8h00 until 16h00
To ensure the safety of workers and motorists, traffic in both directions may be briefly stopped for up to 30 minutes when cables are pulled across the road. Local Traffic Officials will be on-site to manage traffic flow and to minimise delays.
‘Motorists are advised to plan their trips accordingly, adhere to speed limits and to consider alternate routes,” said Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Eastern Cape Provincial Head.
